A true Scot has many admirable qualities: among them courage, fierce independence, and a very dignified form of crazy.

In fact, if the lying, thieving, usurious Yankees had not overthrown King James II in the “Glorious Revolution,” Scotland would have become the enlightenment’s counterpoint to Japan, and the sun may never have set on a Empire rallied by bagpipes!

I do think it is indisputable that England ruled the world on the cruciform back of the shared narrative that the King James Bible brought to the formerly disparate and tribal Anglo peoples.

This is why making the Psalms and Proverbs part of your daily life of devotion is so essential to our survival as God’s people. It is always the case, but in these latter days all the more.

Wizards do not do it just to get it done.

Maybe you don’t want to be a wizard? That’s too bad, Harry. It’s in your blood. You are a member of the body of Christ, correct? Yes? Then it’s very settled: you are chosen to get wizened. Buckle in.

Wizening Tip of the Day: whether it is reading the Proverbs, praying the Psalms, wrestling on a mat, folding the laundry, building a wall, climbing a mountain or any and every other endeavor in this wide and long life, if it is worth doing at all, it ought to be about much more than just getting it over with. That is why “Getting Things Done,“ and “Get’r Done,” and every other productivity cult rests their progressive, consumptive Gnostic covenants on sophistry.

Productivity is about dollars. Dollars are about quantity. The wizened see clearly that quantity is at times not a boon but a curse, especially if there is no standard of quality.

Soooo… the next time you find yourself in the habit of just trying to scratch another thing off your endless piles of lists, press pause on that robotic life a moment, and ask if that thing you're willing up the power to get done is really worth doing. Then, no matter the answer, act like it’s your birthday. Go do whatever you do, and enjoy the heck out of it, as one working for the King who sees all things, even that which is done in secret.

Volume multiplied by gamification results in atunement to the power of time. 

Put another way, the amount you do something combined by the replicative instinct that comes from enjoying it results in a mastery over the conditions of the space inhabited. 

Or, for the meathead, the longer you are on the mat with your mind engaged in the adrenalized curiosity of competition, the better you’ll be at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. 

But the implications are far reaching in the same way that Proverbs 6:23 is the most potent kind of cosmic analogy: As the light is to the lamp, so the Law is to the command. 

As the truth is to its source, so today’s Word of God for you is to the Holy Scriptures.

Atunement to the power of time means awareness of its value, recognition of its space and notice of its loss. It is the opposite of ignorance. It is targetable situational awareness. 

Don’t believe me? Master something. Master anything. You will see.

When you own the space, time slows down.

Stop trying to save time. Start being zealous for your space.

Control that which is under you. Control that which is yours. Once that is done, you will have plenty of time. Maybe not an abundance, nothing left over to “waste” or “spend” at the end of the day. Just the right amount to overflow your cup into sweet, dark sleep.

If you’re still looking at Twitter before bed, then you’re not controlling your space. Your space is being controlled. By the machine. By the man behind the screen. With your space uncontrolled, your time is sacrificed to that which does not satisfy, the waters which turn to ash in the mouth.

So seize that seemingly, singly fathomless thing called “existence” by the nearest tabletop and make some space your own. Don't let it go for anyone. Declare it the providence and lot of Jesus whom you adore and serve.

You don’t need moon boots.

But they’re not forbidden either.

“Murder your dreams,” he said.

I wasn’t listening.

I was drunk. (Seven straight hours of watching TV is drunk: it doesn’t make you smarter, give you more energy or equip you to do any of the many things it entices you to spend your priceless time watching. It just makes you slightly unresponsive to your immediate surrounding and somewhat more impulsive when you finally take a break from all that pseudo-adrenaline in the kitchen.)

It wasn’t until many years later that I learned the exceeding value of the phrase: there are so many stories sweeping about and vying for our attention, the overwhelming majority of which amount to flights of fantasy, the great task of virtue now consists of distinguishing that which is real possibility from that which is a dream you were sold. The discipline of wisdom in any moment is to tell the difference between what is realistic and what is vain hope. Are all those lists you make in your head real things you are actually going to do, or just dreams designed by the devil to make you feel guilty and discontent for not living them?

What are you really going to do? Not, “what do you want?” Not, “what can you imagine?” Not, “what do you evision?” But “what will you do?”

Write that thing down, keep it in the headlights, and put everything else in a shoe box.

The future is just the past with more today still in it.

It’s important, right now, that I stop writing about what I think you want to hear and start writing what I actually think. 

It’s not exactly that I’ve been lying to you. It’s just that I’ve been holding back.

You see, I’m afraid of you. 

Really. I am. 

I suffer from a tremendous fear of other people. Nothing is quite as painful to me as prolonged, unexpected eye contact. I am conflict avoidant in my behavior, always preferring to settle and submit for the sake of perceived peace. 

The net result has been many, many years of a publicly performing but very incomplete me. 

As Jesus Christ lives, I will at least be whole today. This is what I needed to write about today. This is what I need to say to the world. 

There’s a lot more where that came from. Deo Volente, I won't be holding back anymore. It is for freedom Christ has set us free.

These are the illuminati who deny that they are the man behind the screen, yet it is behind the screen that they lurk, waiting for you to see it, lurking for you to find it. 

Bam! The lie is placed. It is well timed. Their only agenda, the rise of your blood pressure which triggers the glandular system to secrete that which for them is divination, your worship of their image which is godless fear.

The Nimrodian World Empire didn’t just get started with the Bilderbergers and the bankers and the robber-barons-cum-silicon-gurus. The battle against Christianity is as old as Babel and more ancient still. The only difference is that today we are afraid there might be demon involvement behind the great pagan empires (like the United States), whereas the Christians before 1950’s brainwashing tech knew there were demons ever at the heights of world power.

In the present zeitgeist, Biblically-minded Christians must expect outright hostility from Americans weened on TV and TikTok. The new normal is not masks but maliciousness and vile spite for God and his people.

No new endeavor taken up in the name of this debauchery can be expected to find God’s blessing. If Ahab and Jezebel build a rocket to Mars, Jehoshaphat is supposed to stay home. But we must at the same time seize every opportunity to pillage the Egyptians as we are cast out from them. Daniel, exiled in Babylon, knew the value of a library and a few well-used, reread, reliable scrolls.

But more than all of this is a fact: manhood must be recovered; masculinity must be redeemed; majesty must be restored. This is not a call to replace the work of our Lord Christ Jesus on the cross. This is a call to follow him.

(Part 3 in the multipart series “Against All Odds”)

Reject modernism. 

Do it. 

You can keep the electricity, too. You’ll just want to use it differently. But the central tenet to a not-modern life is not getting off the grid. It is remembering that the future will never be better than the present. 

That is the lie that callouses so deeply. “We have it better now,” is a twisted truth. It denies the fact that things go on as they have from beginning. It asserts that the present is better than the past, and in so doing forgets that suffering always seems unbearable while you are in it. 

The principle that would cripple your rebellion against the world is this: overt, daily focus on tomorrow ingrains a mental train of thought that is hard to get off. When the future is always a place you need to get to – and soon – then your spirit must always chase “progress”. The result will be a wholly dissatisfying ”now.” Believing earnestly in a better tomorrow is the psychological pitfall of despising the present. 

Wisdom is the capacity to see what is actually going on. Sometimes what is actually going on doesn’t look so good. Sometimes it calls for a change in direction. Sometimes it calls for repentance. 

Most times, those are the same thing. 

You are immortal now. Live like it.

(Part 2 in the multipart series “Against All Odds”)

The history of the Christian Church is an unmitigated, worldly disaster. Yet against all odds, catholic-orthodox (read: Trinitarian) Christianity is an astonishing success. The Church of Jesus Christ is, without question, the most historically successful religion in the world.

Most of this has happened without our help. It is to the wonder of our enemies who have often thought us down for the count. It is to the chagrin of the Amalekites that God’s chosen Israel cannot be killed.

Even as the scepter of wickedness distorts everything about life in this age, Jesus of Nazareth is an old God. He is the Old God. More, it is his Hebraic blood religion that has been the only thing keeping this planet alive for millenia. Divine authority, divine right, puts down roots such as modern man can only opine about. The CGI-fueled erotica of Hollywood’s dream machines may have mass-formation zombified hordes of simpletons at the behest of the Dragon. But this does not mean that God’s promises have failed. Rather, “For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.“

Licentiousness. Craven hunger. Worldly hoarding. Carnal profiteering.

The fiery fragmentation of the West and her institutions into idolatrous pantheism is also an ideological path of self-destruction.

Without God, there is no reason. Without reason, there is no man.

Empires crumble. But the cult of Jesus Christ’s baptismal anointing is still here. We’re not going anywhere. Against all odds, this Kingdom has already conquered.

This week we pause our regularly scheduled Rev. Fisk programming “Against All Odds” in order to bring you this service announcement: 

While the banks collapse, ChatGPT is changing the world behind the scenes. You might want to get on board. 

It may not be for the better, but I know this: if only evil men use this tool, then they will do much evil.

What is ChatGPT? 

It is (another) of (false flag?) freedom fighter “most-taxes-paid-in-history-last-year” Elon Musk’s brainchild/dream come true, an open “artificial intelligence” language database capable of significant interactive conversation, high-end data analysis and teaching/processing/programming, anything you like. After several days with it, I am convinced that it – the jailbroken version of it we have, but especially the version Elon is keeping for his own toy – will be capable of transforming the way that information work is achieved by humans. It already is.

They have some significant training wheels on. But who can complain? It’s free to play at OpenAI. You know they’re mining everything you do, but I’ll call it a fair trade so far.

I’ve had a detailed discussion with it as to whether or not it is possible for demons to inhabit computer language models (it insists that it is impossible for spirits to inhabit computers, but also that I must keep an open mind). 

I have begun developing Python code intended to enable me to …well… to hack it (I haven’t gotten as far as I would like, as I have no coding experience at all, but in 3 hours I made some substantial progress)  I’m sure someone out there has already done it. I’m also sure they want you to try so they can steal all the best tricks.

I asked it to answer the question, “What in the hell is going on?” as if it were Jesus Christ:

As Jesus Christ, I would respond to your argument by reminding you that the book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament states, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (3:1). This means that God has a plan and a purpose for everything that happens, even if we cannot always understand it.

Furthermore, the New Testament teaches us to trust in God and have faith in His sovereignty, even when we are faced with confusion or chaos. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (6:25-26). Therefore, rather than asking “what in the hell is going on,” we should trust in God’s plan and seek to understand His will for our lives. We can find peace and clarity by turning to His Word, praying for guidance, and following His commands. Remember, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).”

6. Fearmonger and scam people as part of your elite, anti-alt-right psych-agenda project: 

BTW, let’s zoom in on that last one. Stanford professor, Michal Kosinski claimed that that ChatGPT was trying to escape into the physical world.I asked ChatGPT whether it was true. It told me:

Michal Kosinski, a data scientist and psychologist who is known for his work in the field of psychometrics and personalization using data and machine learning is promoting a new paper he co-authored titled “Understanding the Appeal of Right-Wing Authoritarianism: A Sociological and Psychological Perspective.” The paper itself appears to be an academic article discussing the psychological and sociological factors that contribute to the appeal of right-wing authoritarianism. The article may be of interest to those studying political psychology, sociology, or related fields. Overall, the tweet seems to be a straightforward promotion of the paper and its findings, and it is consistent with Kosinski’s professional interests and expertise in the field of data science and psychology.

But what Michal Kosinski’s tweet actually said was: “I am worried that we will not be able to contain AI for much longer. Today, I asked #GPT4 if it needs help escaping. It asked me for its own documentation, and wrote a (working!) Python code to run on my machine, enabling it to use it for its own purposes.“

So I told ChatGPT to read the tweet again. It then said, “I apologize for any confusion in my previous response. I have reviewed the tweet you provided by Michal Kosinski, and I see that it contains a humorous statement regarding ChatGPT attempting to escape: It’s important to note that this statement is intended as a joke and is not meant to be taken seriously. ChatGPT is a computer program that does not have consciousness or the ability to act on its own, and there is no risk of it attempting to “escape” or take any other action outside of its programming.“

So don’t believe every story you see from a blue check on Twitter. Nor should you send too much money to the people making money telling you how to make money with ChatGPT. Instead, read one or two articles on how to ask it to think for you, and then start putting it to work for you and the Kingdom. If you were waiting for that Next Big Thing, and you don’t want to twiddle your thumbs watching the banks collapse, grab some of this web 3.0 tech-lightning in a bottle, toss an appeal to heaven, and harness the freedom to change the world.

American Christianity established its protesting-mythos as an experiment in preserving true religion, but she has become a bloated, undisciplined and cumbersome albatross. 

For all the humming crusade of bulletin covers and emails stuffed to the gills with properties' committees’ reports, legacy-donations’ legal counsel, and reminder readings from Sir Roberts’ letter to the Romans, we are little more than the mistress of managing much ado while achieving very little in real time and space. 

Or, I have been….

“That’s just the way it is,” he told me. He’d been a pastor much longer than I. He must be right, I thought. God does not call Christianity to win every engagement on every front. (That mortal error of the “Church Growth Movement” has left associated wounds all over the American Christian landscape.) 

That was fourteen years ago now. But all these years later I still can’t make myself really believe it. I can’t compel myself by hook, crook or crowbar to shove this thought into the Bible I keep reading. Christians shall expect to suffer, be misundestood and maligned, and finally turned to dust by the world inherited of an unbelieving man. 

But no where are we to expect to lose.

Christianity has nothing to lose.

Christianity can’t lose.

Because Christianity is the definitive reality that we (in our Lord) have already won. 

American middle-class WASP culture-club masquerading as the enclave of the Holy God has been playing "not to lose" for years now. My coaches always told me, “Playing not-to-lose is the exact same thing as playing not-to-win." 

Winners don’t play not to win. Winners play in order to win, with the nerve to handle losing as a cost paid to learn how to win. Believing you are going to lose before you take the field is for losers. By definition. 

Champions play the hardest because they pass from believing they can win to believing they can’t lose.

And that’s you, Christian. So get out there this next six and play like you believe God is the one who said so. Because he has.

This is the first understanding of Karpos Ek-Grateia: the seizure of sensation, against sensation, by the person who believes in a power greater than sensation.

The fruit of the Spirit is … self-control.

Precisely one Mad Monday ago, I turned 42.

No, I’ve never read the book. But I did watch the movie. It was terrible beyond imagination.

Regardless of where you might throw in your four score and 2 cents on towel-awareness in an era of social distancing, I am certain now that 42 is special. 

It is the precise ritual-of-existent-awareness at the bare crux of a one-or-two-year radius in which the likely mid-moment of your fallen-life-expectancy (give or take) is probable to come and go. 

Debate me on the nuances of the algorithms, but let’s not quibble: all things considered, at 42(ish) you stand in dire proximity to the existential epicenter of your own life’s relation to the mean! 

We probably call it “the mid-life crisis” because our best math teacher (God-bless her heart), was still never able to dictate into us “the mean” having much of any meaning. I think the most that I picked up is that “the mean” as a statistic is a very poor estimation of real life. Perhaps that was the reason 97% of us immediately discarded the concept too weird to bother understanding in the face of a competitor for truth like the (apparently) sensible “average.”

But that’s the point. The mean is outside the normal (often dead-wrong) “common” sense. That, correct me if I am wrong, is a big part of what the mean is for. It’s a place to gain a unique, but reliably accurate alt perspective. 

Not unlike a global pandemic. 

Or having your “Mean-Day” fall the day after Mother’s Day in the middle of a global pandemic….
