Farm Bureau health push – The American Farm Bureau Federation has sent a series of recommendations to the Make America Health Again Commission: “Healthy meals start with healthy farms, which is a responsibility farmers take seriously.” (Morning Ag Clips)
TikTok doxxing arrest – A TikTok influencer from Colombia has been arrested while live-streaming in Los Angeles. She had gained attention for doxxing agents and releasing the locations of immigration raids. (PJ Media)
MSNBC rebrands as MSNOW – MSNBC is rebranding as My Source News Opinion World—or MSNOW—after splitting from NBC. (WNG)
Melania threatens lawsuit – First Lady Melania Trump has threatened to sue Hunter Biden if he does not retract his claim that she and the President met aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s plane. (Epoch Times)
Biometric passport – The TSA announced plans to introduce biometric “eGates” at select airports. The face-scanning system is intended to “expedite the passenger experience and enhance security,” particularly ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup and America’s 250th anniversary. (The Hill)
Trump opposes mail-in voting – President Trump denounced mail-in voting as corrupt and said he would like to end it. A sweeping change is unlikely, though, as the Constitution sets voting laws to be determined by each state.(Fox)
Movable sanctuary – A century-old Swedish church is being transported three miles to a new site, to make room for the expansion of an iron mine. (BBC, Kiruna Lapland)
Second Watch: Field Notes
Oval Office war talks – A number of European leaders met at the Oval Office following President Trump’s meeting with Russia’s president last week. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the talks as “good and constructive,” but major questions remain about how to bring the conflict to an end. Several outlets reported that “Article 5-like” security guarantees—similar to those enjoyed by NATO members—were being considered. However, the White House press secretary clarified that no American soldiers would be deployed in Ukraine and that the U.S. would not continue to “write blank checks” for the war against Russia. President Trump suggested that air cover may be provided as part of an agreement. (The Postmillenial, The Guardian, ZeroHedge, The Hill)
Illegal illegally – Three people traveling in a minivan have died after colliding with a truck. The truck driver, who is in the U.S. illegally made an illegal U-turn across traffic. Red State raised questions about how the man was able to earn a commercial driver’s license in California. The Indian national has been charged with vehicular homicide and faces possible deportation. (Red State, ABC 10)
