Vatican clarifies Mary’s role A new doctrinal statement instructs Catholics not to call Mary “co-redemptrix,” affirming that Jesus’ sacrifice alone is sufficient. (WNG)
SCOTUS upholds sex-at-birth rule The Supreme Court ruled 6–3 that the State Department may list biological sex on passports, saying it reflects “a historical fact” and does not violate equal protection. (Epoch Times)
UPS cargo plane crash kills 11 The left wing caught fire after takeoff, sending the plane into nearby buildings and igniting fuel stores. Authorities are investigating but a number of people remain unaccounted for. Satellite images show a path of destruction across the crash site at Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville. SNAP rolls back ineligible recipients Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says 700,000 people have been removed from food aid rolls, citing examples of people with multiple registrations and deceased recipients. Wisconsin bill targets VPNs in porn crackdown Lawmakers aim to block minors from porn sites, but critics say banning VPNs misunderstands how the internet works. (Reclaim the Net) | U.K. traffic to PornHub has fallen over 70% since age verification began, though users may be switching to VPNs or to sites with less stringent checks. (BBC)
AI deals lift tech stocks Snap shares rose after announcing a Perplexity AI integration, while Apple will reportedly pay Google $1 billion annually to embed Gemini AI in its devices. (Gadget Hacks)
Explosion at Harvard Medical School Two young men have been arrested after an explosion on campus. No injuries were reported and the building has reopened.(ABC News)
